Results Oriented Reliability and Maintenance 2011
Christer Idhammar is a high profiled and world renowned guru and expert within Reliability and Maintenance. He started his career in the Swedish merchant marine where he started developing fundamentals of his Results Oriented Reliability and Maintenance Management concept. During the last 40 years this concept has evolved during his time as an engineer, manager, consultant, educator and philosopher, reliability guru and company leader. As a consultant he started the Idhammar group of companies in Sweden 1972 and his own company in USA 1985 - IDCON, INC in Raleigh North Carolina, USA.

Maintenance Excellence – Foundation to Success”
Mr. John B. Crowe has been Chief Executive Officer of Buckeye Technologies Inc., since July 1, 2006. Mr. Crowe served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Buckeye Technologies Inc., from April 1, 2003 to July 2006. Mr. Crowe served as the Senior Vice President of Wood Cellulose at Buckeye Technologies Inc., from January 2001 to April 2003. He served as Vice President of Wood Cellulose Manufacturing of Buckeye Technologies Inc. from December 1997 to January 2001. He served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Alabama River Pulp Co. Inc., and Alabama Pine Pulp Operations, a division of Parsons and Whittemore, Inc., and as Vice President and Site Manager of Flint River Operations, a subsidiary of Weyerhauser Company. Following military service as an Officer and Pilot in the United State Air Force, Mr. Crowe began his career in manufacturing at Procter & Gamble and held numerous positions from 1979 to 1992. He has been Chairman of the Board of Buckeye Technologies Inc. since July 1, 2006. He has been Director of Myers Industries Inc. since April 30, 2009. Mr. Crowe serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Mid-South and on the Board of Governors of the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement, Inc. He has been Director of Buckeye Technologies Inc. since August 2004.

Jay Wilson, Vice President Environment Health and Safety, Temple-Inland

“Get the most out of your maintenance dollars.  What needs to be done to improve reliability, Safety and maintenance costs”
Mr. Jay Wilson has been the Vice President of Environment Health and Safety for Temple-Inland since June 2011.  Jay is responsible for strategic vision, direction, and execution of environment health and safety programs for seven paper mills, 60 converting locations, and 16 building products facilities. 

Jay joined Temple-Inland in 2009 as maintenance manager at the Rome, Georgia linerboard mill.  He has 22 years of experience in the Forest Products industry with a variety of assignments including engineering, quality, production management, and EHS leadership roles in four different paper mills.  He has provided EHS leadership in the wood products business at a division level and has been mill manager of a lumber mill.

“Creating the environment for moving from reactive to proactive”
Cliff Williams is a thirty year plus veteran of the maintenance field. He has worked in the pulp and paper and steel industries, as well as with food giants such as Coca Cola, Kraft and Wrigley. His present role allows him to help drive the maintenance performance at ERCO’s plants in North and South America through Best Practices and adapting many of today’s maintenance techniques for the specific needs of ERCO.

Cliff’s introduction to Maintenance Management was over 30 years ago when he helped implement one of the first CMMS at British Steel He has used many other systems since and believes they are a great tool for helping maintenance improvements. However, Cliff is a firm believer that maintenance is all about ‘people’ and enjoys the challenge of developing them to their full potential. In an effort to give back to the field that has supported him for so many years, Cliff speaks at conferences across North America, teaches Maintenance Management at local colleges and writes for trade magazines in Canada.

"One Will Die - The John Martin Story; Planning & Scheduling Practices and Impact on Safety
John Martin is a 35 year veteran of the construction and manufacturing industries. In 1984, John was seriously injured in an industrial accident and received chemical burns over 70% of his body and chemical burns to both eyes. Through medical technology and sheer determination, John has overcome his life changing injury. In recent years, John has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Work Place Education from Southern Illinois University. In 1998, John was selected to guide the Mill-wide implementation of the Aubrey Daniels’ Behavioral Based Safety process. John has presented at major companies, nationwide, and conferences to include BIC Corp, RockTenn, International Paper, Georgia Pacific Corporation, Rohm and Haas, Colgate Palmolive, Behavioral Safety Now Conferences, Pulp and Paper Safety Association Conference, ASSE 2005 PDA in New Orleans, and the Mid South BBS Conference. His topics encompass the “Anatomy of an Accident/The JOHN MARTIN STORY,” “Roadmap to Keeping Your Safety Process Evergreen!,” “Moving Your Safety Process from a Reactive Program to a Preventive Process,”  “Building Safety into Work Processes,” and “Using Root Cause Analysis on Near-Miss Incidents.”

Jack Weeks, Consultant GPM Hydraulic Consulting

“Hydraulic Reliability”
Jack entered GPM’s organization in January of 1997 as a CAD draftsman and hydraulic instructor. He has trained thousands of electricians and mechanics in Hydraulic Troubleshooting methods. His computerized animations have made GPM's presentations and training CD's the recognized leader in the industry. He received his education from the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Electrical Engineering and the Department of State Foreign Service Institute.  Jack is an experienced draftsman and taught telecommunications equipment operation and repair for the Central Intelligence Agency at American embassies overseas.

 

Ian McKinnon, Reliability Solutions

 

Ian McKinnon, developer of R.S. courses and business principal began his career by working on the floor as a craft technician. During this tenure he discovered that most machinery was not rebuilt, installed, or operated correctly. As a result, Ian created a system of improving asset reliability, involving rotating and reciprocating analysis techniques that have grown to include; tested and proven principles, discoveries and precision assembly techniques. Reliability Solutions has created a number of specific classes, written practical accompanying texts, improved and streamlined field application information using a continuous improvement process. The PRECISION MAINTENANCE ... essential craft skills series, is being successfully applied and managed at site and corporate levels in various industries to maintain application integrity and sustainability. The RELIABLE MANUFACTURING … reliable and predictable plant series is an innovative approach to assessing current needs and prioritizing action plans. Ian teaches instructors, holds regional classes and ensures this training process, with accompanying metrics, provides positive “best-in-class” bottom line results.

“Introduction to Root Cause Problem Elimination for the frontline Organization”
Tor Idhammar is President of IDCON, INC.  He has worked in over 50 plants in fourteen countries in several industries.  His primary responsibilities at IDCON, INC. are to manage and train consultants, standardize IDCON’s consulting approach, sales & marketing. Multi-plant project management has been one of Tor’s responsibilities since 2001.  Mr. Idhammar also spend considerable time on implementation and training for plants in  preventive maintenance/essential care and condition monitoring, planning and scheduling, and root cause problem elimination.  Tor also works with our Reliability assessments, benchmarking tours, conferences and other product development.

“The Dirty Dozen Sometimes Learning What NOT to do is More Important Than Learning What to do”
Dale Ekmark, CMRP, is the Chief Operating Officer for the newly formed London-based critical metals mining company, AMG Mining.  Prior to this assignment, he was Chief Executive Officer of Sydvaranger Gruve, the Norwegian iron ore mining subsidiary of Northern Iron, in Kirkenes, Norway. Dale has a diverse heavy-industrial background and has held senior engineering, maintenance and operations positions; including CEO, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Maintenance Engineer, General Manager, and General Manager of Asset and Energy Management.  His experience spans the United States Air Force, Cleveland-Cliffs (now Cliffs Natural Resources), Placer Dome, DeBeers, NORAMCO Engineering, Kazakhmys and Sydvaranger Gruve. He is passionate about Maintenance and Operations improvements and Risk-based Safety. He is based in Northern Minnesota.

Coming from a Manufacturing background, Mr. Maharajan pursued his Master's degree in Paper Science Engineering from Miami University, OH. He joined Metso Automation in the year 2007 as a Project Engineer. He has worked on several projects as DCS and QCS engineer. He has worked on several installation and start-ups on moisture profilers on different machines and has also worked on tissue machine start-ups. He also is experienced with working on advanced pulp mill optimizing controls especially on the recovery line.

Mr. Kalske is a process and production specialist of stock preparation, Board and Paper making and coating for Metso Paper USA.  He is a specialist of Board and Paper Machine concept evaluations. Start up management and trouble shooting.

Anders Lif, Global Director – Product & Industry Marketing IFS World Operations AB

Anders is IFS Global Director for Product & Industry Marketing. In this role he is heading up several of IFS corporate functions such as product marketing, partners & alliances, IFS eChannels and IFS global industry directors. His job contains a lot of interaction with management and customers around the world and Anders spends most of his time travelling.

Starting at Siemens working with automation and control systems in various European countries during 8 years, he joined IFS in 1998.

After many years in the asset intensive industry, Anders used the knowledge he gained in the field to assume R&D responsibility for IFS EAM solutions. For the last couple of years, Anders has been heading up several of IFS industry teams before taking on today’s responsibility as IFS Global Director for Product & Industry Marketing.

Jonas is President for SSG Standard Solutions Group AB. In this role he is leading a substantial expanding international consulting and training company which is headquartered in Sundsvall Sweden. SSG works with standardization, recommendations, information and training as well as information and transaction management within the business areas Technology, Logistics & Purchasing plus Health, Safety & Environment.

SSG is presently owned in equal parts by the seven largest forest industry conglomerates in Sweden: Billerud, Holmen, Korsnäs, M-real, SCA, Stora Enso and Södra. The company’s successful collaboration is established in ten different fields, where about 500 experts within the forest industry work actively on more than 60 committees and working groups to strategically and operatively identify important, cost-efficient solutions that heighten quality and are applicable to the entire international process industry.

Starting as a consultant at Dalkia Facilities Management Jonas for four years was overall responsible for the technical operations in municipalities in the Stockholm region. In 2000 he became Purchasing director for SCA Graphic in Sundsvall and in 2004 he began his work to transform SSG to the successful company it is today.

William Kruger joined ALL-TEST Pro, LLC as the Technical Manager in 2005. Since joining ATP, Bill has traveled the world teaching the Theory and Application of Motor Diagnostics, helping Fortune 500 Companies implement Predictive Maintenance Programs. In 2010 Bill’s proven instructional techniques earned him the new title of Training Technical Manager. Before joining ALL-TEST Pro, LLC Bill Kruger worked in many different aspects of the Engineering and Maintenance Fields. Bill worked as an Electrician in the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Program. He has completed the Journeyman Electrician Program and started one of the first Predictive Maintenance Programs in the Utility Industry. Bill Kruger holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from San Diego University. With his combined work in the field as well as with ALL-TEST Pro, Bill has over 40 years of proven experience in the practical engineering and predictive maintenance field.

Mr. Bowie is a Business Manager with Metso, Refiner Segments.  He brings 36 Years experience in Mechanical Pulping, Woodyard, Kraft Pulping, Recycled Fiber and Wood Procurement, employed by International Paper and Metso Paper.

He has an M.B.A. from Thomas College and a B.S. Forrest Utilization from the University of Maine
